Welcome to the Blogspot of the 2011 Armadale Christian College community service overseas trip. Again we will be partnering with Kids International Ministries and travelling to Antipolo - Manila, the Philippines and we will be transiting via Malaysia. The purpose of this trip is for upper secondary students to experience the culture of another country and assist in numerous areas where help is needed. Currently these areas involve teaching, building and food preparation and distribution to slum areas.
Whilst the majority of the trip will involve working in the above mentioned areas, there will be opportunities for the students to experience Pagsanjan Falls and visit the historically significant World War II military base of Corregidor. Other ministry areas include visiting a local prisons to run music and craft activities and participating in a basketball game at a local high school.
Thank you for your support. We look forward to your comments and prayers during the trip. Remember the Blogspot will be updated every evening where possible.
God Bless

ReplyDeleteWhat is Josie's Angels?
hi Erin
ReplyDeleteWe heard all about your first week this morning in Church and we're all praying for you. It sounds as though you are having quite a variety of experiences thrust on you. I hope and pray you will find them wonderful growing experiences. I know when I first hit a very different culture I was amazed. We are praying fro your relationship with the other folk in the team and look forward to hearing how it's all worked out. The Josie's Angels work sounds something to get behind so go for it if it is really touching your heart.
Must go - everybody seems to just say on at Church if we don't go home!
Lots of love from Hilary and me,
David
